Fisher boxing club coach Steve Hiser has high hopes for the latest boxing talent to come out of his club, after she made a winning debut in an England vest.
Caroline Dubois was part of national squad who took on their Scottish counterparts in Birtley, Durham and the fifteen-year-old came away with a victory.
The under 57kg boxer forced Sharia Robertson to take a count in their encounter before getting a points verdict decision over her opponent from north of the border. Hiser told the News: “I will be putting Caroline in the Junior ABA’s this year and I really believe she can win them.
“She is in with a great chance and since she went up to the England v Scotland match she also got a call up to the full England squad.
“They obviously liked what they saw when she was in action in Birtley.” The teenager is in good company in her household as two of her siblings are also amateur boxers.
The Fisher head coach added: “Her brother Daniel is also in the England squad and she also has a younger brother who is pretty good too. They are quite a talented family in boxing terms.”
