Millwall Lionesses picked up their first win in five months on Sunday when they overcame Watford Ladies 2-1 away from home.
This season has been a tough campaign for the Lionesses, including a change of manager mid season, so last weekends game was a contest between the sides at the bottom of Women’s Super League Division Two.
The Lionesses took an early lead, after just two minutes, when Ashlee Hincks was on hand to put Millwall ahead.
But the home side levelled on 53 minutes when Anne-Laure Davy headed home only for Milwall’s Lucy Loomes to score the decisive goal minutes later.
The Lionesses winning goal getter said: “It’s a massive win for us. We came here to get three points and we got them.
“We knew it was a massive game and we responded to the challenge and got the result that we really needed and wanted.”
