Surrey’s Jason Roy hit a career best first class knock of 140 as the Kennington side played out a draw against Northamptonshire.
The whole first day of the match was washed out by the weather so a draw always looked the likeliest result when the teams took the pitch at the County ground on day two.
The visitors managed to skittle Northants out for 309 first time out with Tom Curran returning figures of 4/89. The Kia Oval outfit hit 499 in reply with Roy and Kumar Sangakkara, who scored 111, dominating the scorecard as the game meandered to a stalemate.
In the end Surrey picked up thirteen bonus points for their efforts whilst the midlands side secured ten points to add to their seasons tally.
