The first protest, likely of many, took place this week over potential council cuts to services – this time at an adventure playground in Borough.
It’s an impossibly difficult situation with which the local authority is faced. If central government is further to reduce its cuts to local authority spending, then something will have to give. There are only so many ways to skin a cat. And every protest will have valid arguments as to why their service should be preserved.
It’s right that residents voice their unhappiness over potential cutbacks, and get involved in the proposals – those charged with making these difficult decisions need your input, rather than silence and then complaints after the event.
