The Peckham and Nunhead Free Film Festival returns tomorrow for a stint of classic and modern movies and documentaries, in a host of unusual locations.

Running from September 1-10, the festival’s line-up includes Paddington; Wall-E; Goodfellas; and 1984. The venues vary between Nunhead Cemetery (showing Nosferatu the Vampyre) and Veolia’s waste management site off Old Kent Road (showing A Plastic Ocean + Q&A).

Festival coordinator Ann Lazim said: “this is our eighth year and we’re doing twenty events.

“We’ve a mixture of old and new. At Nunhead Cemetery we’ve got Greenwich Uni students helping project the film onto the wall of the chapel. And we’ve got loads of Q&A sessions this year. We’re also happy we’ve got a festival happening within the festival, when the Bussey Building will host Afrikans on Film Festival.

“All the screenings are first-come-first-serve including the last one, a documentary about the Ivy House pub at PeckhamPlex.”
