Around 200 King’s College London students were evacuated last night when a fire broke out in a halls of residence in Stamford Street.
Part of a “self-contained flat of six rooms” on the seventh floor of the eight floor building was damaged by fire.
Six fire engines and 35 firefighter and officers from Dowgate, Lambeth, Euston and Soho fire stations attended the incident.
The Brigade was called at 2.16am and the fire was under control at 3.31am. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
