More than £30,000 has now been raised for the Albrighton Community Centre’s COVID-19 response as Millwall Community Trust staff member and Ex-DHFC player Dean Palmer dropped in to help with some food deliveries.
As of last week 588 donors had backed the campaign to help people struggling financially as a result of the pandemic.
“Whilst some people are now returning to something close to normality, for others the struggle goes on with little hope on the horizon,” organiser Steve Hedger explained on the CrowdFunder page.
“Albrighton Community Centre is continuing to remain open throughout the current crisis to provide access to food for those in need.”
The centre in East Dulwich is open to anyone in need of food and other essential items from Monday to Friday from 1pm.
It also had recent food donations from businesses and restaurants including City Pantry, Icco Pizza and Brindisa.
