No Pen Day Wednesday - national speaking and listening initiative

Primary schoolchildren in Rotherhithe were rapping, telling jokes, performing riddles and reciting short stories as they took part in No Pen Day Wednesday, last week.

The event is part national speaking and listening initiative to encourage new approaches to teaching and to raise money for ICAN charity, which supports children with speech, language and communication difficulties.

This is the second year running that Redriff Primary took part in the all-day event, which also included debating, hot seating, art, music, acting and singing. But pupils were allowed to use laptops and i-pads.
