A fundraiser for a charity that aims to educate young people about the perils of knife crime has raised more than £3,300.
Millwall Lionesses goalkeeper Kelly Webster did the annual 21 Bridges walk last Sunday, May 30, in memory of Lions fan Jimmy Mizen, who was killed in an altercation in a bakery in 2008. Supporters of the Jimmy Mizen Foundation, the anti-knife crime foundation set up by Jimmy’s parents, have been walking the route every year since 2013.
Kelly and her fellow walkers have raised £3,341 at the time of publication – far higher than her original £2,000 goal and more than triple the amount the walk raised in 2020.
She thanked everyone who donated after the walk, saying she was “absolutely blown away” by the “amazing support”.
