A Bermondsey school held a series of summer events last week to welcome new students, including an inflatable assault course and a mini-Olympics.
Students about to start at Compass School on Drummond Road were able to take part in a variety of bonding sessions throughout the week from August 23-27, including creating a play in a day, wellness classes, and even a carnival on Friday.
One student said, ‘I have been excited all summer but I’m even more excited now!’
Emma Walkey-Williams, assistant principal for community, said: “To see our new students and their families having fun, enjoying getting to know each other, is wonderful. The students have had an incredible week, leaving every day with a smile, eager to come back the next. We cannot wait for September!”
