Thirty-four-year-old Michael Rolle appeared in court today charged with murdering Camberwell mum Charlotte Huggins.
The 33-year-old was stabbed to death in the early hours of New Year’s Day – the first person to be killed in London in 2019.
Police were called to the property on John Ruskin Street by paramedics at 4.20am to reports of a stabbing.
However despite the best efforts of the emergency services, Ms Huggins’ life could not be saved and she was sadly pronounced dead at 4.50am.
A post-mortem gave the cause of death as a single stab wound.
Rolle of Pentworth House, Dulwich was charged earlier today (Saturday, 5 January) and appeared in custody at Camberwell Green Magistrates’ Court.
A second man, who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been released under investigation.
