A young boy who fled chaos in Afghanistan and who was living in Deptford has been found in Bristol after being reported missing last Tuesday (November 30).
Mohammed Khan, 11, had previously been seen going to play football in the area near his home.
Police said on Thursday afternoon (December 2) that he had been found in Bristol, more than 100 miles from his new home, and was “safe and well”.
Although close to Bermondsey and Rotherhithe, Deptford is part of the borough of Lewisham. Southwark councillor Alice Macdonald told the News last week that there are around 200 Afghan refugees in our borough at the moment. Roughly half are children.
