A Bermondsey pub raised £1,300 for a Down’s Syndrome charity earlier this month, to help support a little girl who lives with the condition.
As we reported, the Ancient Foresters, on Southwark Park Road, put on the charity raffle on November 12 to help two-year-old Sophia, whose grandmother is from the area.
The money raised will go to the Down’s Syndrome Association, a national charity that is “committed to improving quality of life for people with Down’s syndrome, promoting their right to be included on a full and equal basis with others.”
Landlady Sandra Smith said she would like to thank everyone who came for their support, Millwall for auctioning off tickets, Kevin Sage for DJing and Danny Sullivan from the Kennington CIU club.
