City of London police have launched a witness appeal after two men raided a Louis Vuitton store in central London armed with an axe, hammer and machete.
Police believe the moped-riding suspects fled over London Bridge into Southwark after stealing £5,000 of goods from the store at the Royal Exchange.
The authorities were called to the suspected ‘smash and grab’ at 1.30am on Wednesday July 7.
Now they want to hear from anyone who may have seen the moped around that time in London Bridge or Bank.
“We would like to ask anyone who was in the area at the time of this incident, or who may have important information that could assist our investigation, to contact us,” said Detective Inspector Andrew Clarke.
“We are particularly keen to speak to any road users who may have dashcams or cameras fitted to their car or bike, and who may have seen a moped travelling quickly with two passengers in the Bank/London Bridge area around 01.25hrs – 01.40hrs on Wednesday morning.”
Anyone with information can contact the City of London Police on 0207 601 2999, quoting the crime reference 19*386895.
