The Friends of Peckham Coal Line announced on Monday that Adams and Sutherland architects have been enlisted to help with the project.
The Coal Line could see a suspended walk-way and cycle route between Queens Road Peckham and Peckham Rye stations. The line would be converted out of disused coal sidings of the train tracks.
A spokesman for the architects, which helped deliver the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park’s Greenway, called it an “exciting” project “full of possibilities”.
Over £100,000 has been raised for the project from the Mayor of London’s office, Southwark Council and cycling charity Sustrans, while £75,000 was crowd-funded.
