A south London mental health charity has been given a “generous” £500 donation from a London housebuilder, writes Kit Heren…
Lambeth and Southwark Mind said it would use the money from developer Bellway to give more support over the phone and online to people suffering from mental health problems.
A fundraiser at the charity said Lambeth and Southwark Mind “truly appreciate” the donation.
Jaimal Patel added: “This donation is helping us to provide phone support, online group meetings and therapy to support the community during the pandemic. Using Bellway’s generous donation, we have been able to be there for the community in their time of need and helped make a difference for all those going through mental health problems.”
Lambeth and Southwark Mind gets more than 1,200 calls to its main information service each year. The charity also offers face-to-face support to more than 100 people, although this service has been shut down in the Covid-19 lockdown.
