Shortwave Café celebrates its official launch tonight with a free party at its new venue in The Biscuit Factory in Bermondsey.

The event runs from 6pm until late and features DJ Stewart Who? on the decks, a BBQ and drinks deals on Aperol Spritz and Pimm’s. The bar will also be stocked with draft beer from Bermondsey breweries, Four Pure and Partizan.

The evening marks the launch of a new events programme which will include regular live music, DJs and stand-up comedy. The venue also includes an art space with rotating exhibitions. On August 2 a new multimedia exhibition, ‘Home’, opens, which features art and spoken word from the Open Book art group at Goldsmiths College. It runs until August 19 and will be followed by an exhibition of East London artist Dan Hillier, whose work mixes collage and ink drawings.
