A Brixton flat was the scene of a fire that saw 25 firefighters called on Monday morning.
The London Fire Brigade was called to St James’s Crescent at 10:05am, and at 10:46am its Twitter account reported that firefighters were on the scene. By 10:55am, the fire was under control. It had damaged part of the roof on the fifth floor, and there are no reports of any injuries.
Fire investigators believe that the fire was accidental and caused by an electrical inverter for solar panels – a device which converts the electricity captured by solar panels into a current for electrical circuits and appliances.
The scene was attended by fire crews from Brixton, Clapham and Lambeth fire stations.
