A 34-year-old man has been rushed to hospital this morning (Saturday May 14) with shotgun wounds after a shooting in Brockwell Park.
Police were called to Brockwell Park, Tulse Hill, SW2 at 2.15am. They attended along with paramedics from the London Ambulance Service (LAS).
The man’s condition has been assessed as non life-threatening.
Lambeth Parks and Leisure tweeted: “Brockwell Park continues to remain closed. We are aware that a couple of gates have been opened by stakeholders arriving on site earlier this morning.
“These will be closed shortly. At present, the indication from the police is that the park will be able to re-open from midday.”
Helen Hayes, Labour MP for Dulwich & West Norwood, tweeted this morning: “Really concerning to hear that there was a shooting earlier in Brockwell Park. My thoughts are with the victim in hospital.”
No arrests have been made and a crime scene has been put in place. Enquiries continue.
