A 14-year-old boy has been taken to hospital after being assaulted outside Canada Water tube station on this afternoon (Wednesday, January 19).
His condition was not life-threatening, police said on Thursday afternoon (January 20).
A spokesperson for the police said: “Police were called at 16:33hrs on Wednesday, 19 January to reports of an assault outside Canada Water Underground Station.
“Officers attended along with London Ambulance Service and a 14-year-old boy was found with head injuries and taken to hospital. We await an update on his condition.
“Enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting CAD 5011/19Jan. To remain anonymous contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 4.34pm today (Wednesday 19 January) to reports of an incident in Surrey Quays Road, SE16.
“We sent an ambulance and treated a boy at the scene before taking him to hospital.”
