A suspected cannabis farm was raided by police in the early hours of this morning in Southwark.
Although details of the exact location have yet to be released, the Met says over 250 plants were hidden in the attic of the ‘residential property’.
A man in his 50s was arrested on suspicion of cannabis cultivation and remains in custody.
PC Luke Whenham, from the central south violence suppression unit, said: “This search warrant has ultimately prevented a large amount of what we believe to be class B drugs from being peddled across Southwark and the surrounding areas.
“We know that drug supply is linked to much of the violence we see across the borough, which is why proactive operations which seek to disrupt the cultivation of drugs are paramount.
“Information from the public about criminality such as this is absolutely crucial, and I’d urge you to contact police if you have details about anyone involved in crime.”
