A carol concert will be thrown at Peckham Arch tomorrow at 5pm to celebrate the big Christmas tree lights switch-on.
Carol singers from Harris Academy Peckham and Oliver Goldsmith Primary will join singers from Theatre Peckham and brass band from Mountview Academy.
Mince pies and refreshments will also be provided by the local Morrisons supermarket, and there will be a free photo booth with fun props.
The Mayor of Southwark, councillor Charlie Smith, was among those invited to switch on the tree’s lights.
The celebration, which has been held in Peckham Square every year since 2011, was organised with the help of Maureen Baker of the Sumner Estate Residents Association.
Money for the celebration came from a three-year block of funding of £10,350, given by Southwark Council in 2015.
