Pupils at The Charter School in Dulwich were jumping for joy yesterday as three quarters of pupils gained five A*-C grades in their GCSE results.
Among the school’s achievements were its claim of beating the national average of A*-C grades by 32 per cent, while 28 per cent of Charter pupils also got five A*-A grades.
Forty-three per cent of students gained the English Baccalaureate, and sixty-four per cent earned at least one A* or A grade.
Head teacher Christian Hicks said: “Pupils flourish here regardless of their circumstances. We are delighted with these outstanding GCSE results – which put us among the top performing state schools in the UK.
“Our year eleven pupils now have strong foundations for success and happiness in their future lives.”

- Kate Bernal who gained 10 GCSEs including 5 at grade A* and 5 at grade A
- Francis Fennelly who gained 10 GCSEs including 6 at grade A* and 4 at grade A
- Lucas Fothergill who gained 10 GCSEs including 5 at grade A* and 5 at grade A
- Ella Pound who gained 10 GCSEs including 5 at grade A* and 5 at grade A
- Isabel Raikes who gained 10 GCSEs including 6 at grade A* and 4 at grade A
- Alex Bottomley who gained 11 GCSEs including 4 at grade A* and 7 at grade A
- Carwyn Jones who gained 10 GCSEs including 4 at grade A* and 6 at grade A

- 100 per cent A* to C grades were achieved in Music and in Chinese
- 98 per cent A* to C grades were achieved in Art and 95 per cent A* to C grades were achieved in English
- 96 per cent A* to C grades were achieved in Further Science and 80 per cent in Science
- 95 per cent A* to C grades were achieved in Spanish
- 92 per cent A* to C grades were achieved in Drama
- 78 per cent A* to C grades were achieved in Maths
- 91 per cent A*/A grades were achieved in Music and 88 per cent A*/A grades in Chinese
- 72 per cent A*/A grades were achieved in Drama
