Commuters passing through Peckham Rye Station have been greeted by an exhibit of local youngsters’ artworks.
Colourful creations by five to ten-year-olds from Peckham Palm Tree Academy are on display in the Platform Three waiting room.
The theme of the work is “Inventions”, with the aim of being visually interesting for passengers and inspiring kids to think about the environment.
Southwark mayor Kath Whittam (pictured) visited with the kids on March 24.
Alishea Marsh who runs Palm Tree Academy, said: “Palm Tree children are really blessed to showcase their amazing talent at Peckham Rye station.
“They have worked very hard and thoroughly enjoyed the project. I hope their work will inspire and motivate many for years to come. Thanks to Phil, Southern Rail staff, all parents and staff at Palm Tree as well as everyone who donated and made this opportunity possible. Last but not least, Palm Tree children, you rock!”
