A 62-year-old cyclist has died after a collision involving a bus on Kennington Road, at the junction with Lambeth Road.
Police named the victim as Oswald Mapp yesterday. Officers were called to the scene of the accident at 10.11pm last Monday (May 2).
Mr Mapp was taken to hospital but, despite medical staff’s best efforts, was pronounced dead on Wednesday May 4. His family has been informed.
The bus driver stopped at the scene and is still assisting officers with their enquiries. No arrests have been made.
Detective Sergeant Nick Bale of the Met’s Roads and Transport Policing Command said: “The scene of the collision is a busy road and I am sure that there were witnesses who have not yet come forward. I urge those people to get in touch.
“Similarly, I would ask any motorist who was in the area at the time of the collision to check their dash cam and if they have footage of the collision, or the events surrounding it, to contact us without delay.”
