A Bermondsey dance school is looking to expand after moving into a new home.
Carragher Academy of Irish Dance has relocated to Rouel Road tenants’ hall above the Blue Anchor Library, in Southwark Park Road.
The school was previously at the Beormund Centre but now has access to two halls, meaning it can expand to take on more members.
Bermondsey sisters Sarah Carragher, 37, and Jessica Carragher, 29, have been running the dance school for fifteen years.
Monica Larking, 33, also teaches at the school, which offers beginner, intermediate, and advanced classes.
“We teach people from the age of four upwards and have got some people in their 30s,” said Jessica.
“We also compete and are going to the All England Championships from November 18-19. It’s a bit like a family here; we try to make sure that as well as dancing they get to have a bit of fun.” Classes run on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5-7pm.
Anyone interested can arrange to go along to watch a session and the first class is free. For more information, contact: carragheracademy@gmail.com.
