Eight people linked to serious violence and drug dealing have been arrested after dawn raids across south London this morning.
Warrants were issued for fifteen addresses across Lewisham, Greenwich, Bromley and four in Kent – including Norman Road in Deptford.
Aged between nineteen and 40, the eight men were arrested for a range of offences including possessing a firearm, possession of drugs and conspiracy to supply, cannabis cultivation, and possessing criminal property.
Four guns, a stun gun, large quantities of cash, eight kilos of cannabis, one kilo of Class A drugs, three imitation firearms and a “vast number of hunting knives and lock knives” were seized by officers.
More than 200 police officers had taken part in the investigation and raids led by Southwark and Lambeth police and the territorial support group.
Superintendent Andy Furphy said: “This operation demonstrates the Met’s commitment to target and take robust action against those involved in drug-related violence.
“The efforts of all the officers and staff involved will make the communities of south east London safer.”
