A man was from Battersea has been charged with the murder of Gavin Garraway in Clapham Park Road last Friday.
Zion Chiata, (b. 27.04.00), from Battersea, was charged on Tuesday, April 2, with murder and possession of a bladed article after being arrested in the morning of the same day.
He appeared in custody at a magistrates’ court yesterday.
Police launched the murder hunt after finding the victim, forty-year-old Gavin Garraway, from Lambeth, injured near Clapham Common underground station, at around 2.35pm on Friday, March 29.
Gavin was pronounced dead at the scene and a post-mortem examination at Greenwich Mortuary confirmed his death was caused by a stab wound.
Two others – a fourteen-year-old boy and nineteen-year-old man -have been arrested, with both released under investigation.
