Police are hunting for video footage of a fight in Elephant and Castle after a teenage boy was stabbed in the arm.

The fight, involving a number of men, took place near to the Elephant and Castle Shopping Centre at around 6.20pm on Thursday – the height of rush hour.

It spilled out onto the street before the suspects, described by police as black males, made off down New Kent Road.

A sixteen-year-old boy was “seriously assaulted” in the process, receiving stab injuries to his arm. He was rushed to hospital and later discharged. His wounds will need ongoing treatment, said officers.

The Met’s DC Caroline Jeffery said: “This fight took place during rush hour so there would have been many motorists and pedestrians in and around the Elephant and Castle roundabout at the time.

“I would ask anyone who witnessed this fight or any motorists who may have recorded some of the incident on dashcam footage to get in contact with police.

“A male was seriously assaulted and we need to find the people responsible.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 or tweet @MetCC, quoting CAD6634/3Oct.
