Firefighters are still investigating the cause of a blaze that ripped through a shop on Walworth Road last Wednesday, January 16.
Two people were rescued from the burning building, with a woman treated for smoke inhalation and taken to hospital and Walworth Road closed as ten fire engines and 70 firefighters set to work.
The cause of the fire, which started at around 7.42am and took two hours to put out, is still under investigation.
The Brigade is also investigating the cause of a smaller fire in Oval over the weekend.
On Saturday, January 19, three engines and fifteen firefighters were called to the flat in Bethwin Road at 5.16pm.
The blaze, which damaged part of a first floor flat, was brought under control within the hour.
