The Bermondsey Folk Festival returns this weekend, promising a day packed full of live music and craft beer.

The event will return to the heart of Bermondsey this Saturday, September 9, to celebrate some of the best of folk music and the area’s pubs.

Festival-goers will be taken on a trail through the taprooms of local craft brewers as they hop from one pub to the next for each act.

The day will kick off at 12pm at the Queen Victoria on Southwark Park Road with a guided walk led by Bermondsey-born comedian Arthur Smith.

The Alasdair Roberts Trio will then perform further down the road at Market Place at 1.30pm, following by Cunning Folk at the Blue Anchor at 2.30pm. From 1pm-3.30pm there will music from Frog Morris with circus skills, an art workshop, Morris dancing, and a Dr Bike workshop at Market Place.

Stick in the Wheel will perform at Market Place from 4pm, followed by Martin Simpson at 5pm.

The final leg of the festival will see everyone head over to Shortwave Café at the Biscuit Factory in Clements Road for 7pm to watch Thomas McCarthy’s enchanting tales of mystical times supported by an eclectic mix of performers.
