Free tai chi and self-defence classes are being held in Camberwell for people with disabilities.
The classes will be held weekly on Mondays at Everyone Active’s Camberwell Leisure Centre, and are being put on in partnership with national disability charity, and Southwark Disablement Association.
The sessions are open to adults over eighteen and with a sensory impairment or complex disability and are run by qualified instructors with experience of working with disabled people.
Carers, friends and family are also welcome to attend and classes will include both sitting and standing contact work.
Mayana McDermott, London’s regional sports coordinator at Sense, said: “We’re really excited to partner up with Southwark Disablement Association to offer free tai chi with self-defence classes.
“We are grateful to Everyone Active for providing space.
“We believe that everyone deserves the right to enjoy a physically active life, no matter how complex their disabilities are.”
Sessions run every Monday from 2-3.30m at Everyone Active, Camberwell Leisure Centre, Artichoke Place, SE5 8TS.
