The family of a Bermondsey NHS worker who died unexpectedly at just 57 years of age last month are holding a funeral procession from her Abbey Street home to Honor Oak.
Wendy Thrower passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 7, in her sleep at home in St Saviour’s Estate. She died from natural causes unrelated to Covid-19.
The Guy’s and St Thomas’ worker was “above all, a loving, local, caring, nurturing, brave, strong, beautiful, and remarkable woman,” said her family in a statement to the News.
Her funeral service will be held by Albins tomorrow, on Friday, May 15.
Those unable to attend due to social distancing rules are invited to honour her and pay their respects as her procession makes its journey through Bermondsey from 1.30pm.
Any flowers should be sent to Albins, Arthur Stanley House, 52 Culling Road, SE16 2TN to arrive before 1pm on Friday. Cards can be sent to The Thrower Family, 3 Rufus House, St Saviour’s Estate, London, SE1 3NT.
