Bones at a waste facility

Human remains found at a waste facility in Greenwich are not suspicious, the Met has confirmed.

Forensic analysis confirmed the bones, discovered at the plant in Nathan Way yesterday (Tuesday, May 21) were indeed human as suspected.

An investigation found they had been deposited by a contractor after a dentists’ surgery had been cleared.

Today, (Wednesday, May 22), officers confirmed the now-retired dentist, whose surgery had been out of use for a decade, had brought the bones to the UK in the 1960s after using them in his medical training in India.

As a result, the Met has declared the find ‘non-suspicious’.
