Three student nurses from King’s have received awards to recognise their outstanding work, writes Emma Snaith…
The Cavell Nurses’ Trust presented the students with their awards at a prestigious ceremony held at the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in central London on Thursday, June 22.
Lily Parham, Katharine Siobhan Pearson and Marina Down were honoured for their enthusiasm, commitment and hard work in their studies. All three students were offered funding to put towards a travel placement of their choice, further to develop their nursing and midwifery skills.
Cavell Nurses’ Trust provides support to nurses, midwives and healthcare assistants facing personal or financial hardship.
The charity was founded in 1917 in memory of the British nurse Edith Cavell, after she helped 200 Allied soldiers reach freedom from German-occupied Belgium.
