A murder probe has been launched after a woman was fatally stabbed in Lewisham.
Cops say they were called to the stabbing scene on Lewisham Way at around 9pm on June 10 over a “welfare concern” for the occupant of an address on the road.
Once inside, they found a woman in her late fifties suffering from stab injuries.
She was rushed to hospital, but sadly died of her injuries on Tuesday, June 16.
Cops say they are not releasing the identity of the victim until her wider family are informed.
A post-mortem is yet to take place.
A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder on the same day, and has since been charged with the offence.
He appeared at Bromley Magistrates Court on June 12, and will next appear at the Old Bailey on Friday, July 10.
