A Surrey Quays artist is calling for people to send him their work for an exhibition starting later this month.
Rod Kitson, resident artist at Surrey Quays shopping centre, has given artists of all ages, backgrounds and ability until midnight this Friday (December 10) to send in submissions for the exhibition, which will run from December 17-January 6 in the Art of Isolation gallery in Surrey Quays shopping centre.
The art must have been made in the past twelve months, and there is a limit of five submissions per person.
Entry costs £15 for artwork up to 50cm, £25 for artwork up to 70cm and £8 for online-only entries of any size.
Rod Kitson said: “Art from all ages and abilities is welcome in my End of Year Show which will be a celebration of the local community’s creativity. From paintings to sculptures and mixed media, everyone is welcome to submit an entry and see their work on display at Surrey Quays.”
This year’s exhibition follows the success of Rod’s Class of 2020 show, which featured art work created by local residents during last year’s lockdown and included paintings, mixed media and sculptures.
Vi Chu, centre manager at Surrey Quays, said: “Rod’s latest exhibition is a great way for locals to share their art with the community and we can’t wait to see the entries when it debuts. A visit to Rod’s unit at the centre is a must this festive season alongside our Christmas activities and we encourage all ages to come and see the art while ticking off their Christmas shopping list.”
