The Walworth Society has arranged a hustings this Wednesday (April 20) before the local elections taken place on May 5.
Established in 2011 to help protect the area’s heritage and green spaces the Walworth Society have spearheaded many local campaigns, so are perfectly placed to be host the event where local candidates hoping for election or re-election in the area will be questioned by members of the public.
Candidates from three of the major parties will attend the event held at St Peter’s Church, Liverpool Grove on Wednesday 20 April, starting at 7pm.
Labour are sending Cllr Alice Macdonald, Newington ward councillor and cabinet member for equalities, neighbourhoods and leisure.
Cllr David Noakes of Borough and Bankside ward will represent the Liberal Democrats while Peter Baffoe, prospective councillor for North Walworth, will represent the Green Party.
The Conservative Party has been invited, but no candidates are confirmed as attending yet.
