The weekends within the festival will celebrate creative communities across the city, whilst introducing a new way for people to experience one of the world’s biggest art movements.

London Mural Festival will feature 100+ international and local artists painting suburban houses to city centres and cultural hubs!

The festival will showcase work from artists including Camille Walala, Dale Grimshaw, Marija Tiurina, Gary Stranger, Mr. Cenz, Mad C Pref, Zabou and Seb Lester.

This past weekend the Japanese graffiti art collective THA, artists SUIKO, imaone, and FATE who are Japan’s leading graffiti writers, created a mural on the exterior wall of Copeland Park & Bussey Building, at 131 Copeland Road, SE15 as part of the inaugural London Mural Festival, taking place throughout September.

A festival spokesman said: “There was an open call for artists to participate and we received over 500 applications. Local, national and international artists have been selected and will showcase their work across the city, with more than 15 nationalities being represented, whilst the majority of murals are painted by UK-based artists.

“LMF aims to be inclusive in both artwork and artist background.

“Out of respect for creative freedom and the broad range of locations that we’re painting, we have not asked artists to follow a topic or theme.

“Whilst artists have been allowed to express their own style, we have consistently sought to reflect the wishes of the wall owners, occupants and local communities, and through consultation they have chosen the artists and artwork that they feel best suits their location.”
