London’s only Vitality Netball Superleague Team – London Pulse – has teamed up with care provider Anchor Hanover to provide online netball coaching for residents in Anchor Hanover homes in Southwark.
They have been enjoying Zoom lessons with the first streamed on Wednesday, July 22, given by player Kira Rothwell. She taught the OAPs how to pass and shoot the ball into the net.
Kira described it as the ‘highlight of my lockdown’: “The residents were fun to talk to and engaged, especially when it got to the competitions.
“It just shows that there’s a place for netball in all ages and an experience I’d love to do again.”
Margaret Walker, aged 87, a resident at Rose Court home in Lower Road, said: “It was a lovely session and I really enjoyed it. It was nice to see residents from other care homes and we were doing it together, it was fun.”
