Four years ago, residents and local businesses from SE21 came together to launch Love West Dulwich Fair – a fun filled day for local families celebrating the best of the community, writes Simon Throssell …
Every year since then, the group have run a Christmas and summer fair, firmly putting the event into everyone’s calendars.
Taking place on Saturday June 23 on Croxted, Park Hall and Rosendale Roads from 11 am to 4 pm, this year’s fair will include amusement rides, farm animals from Vauxhall City farm, live music, and much more.
Food lovers can enjoy a street food market on Croxted Road, with summery delights being provided by independent businesses, including a BBQ at Scotch Meats Stores, sourdough pizza at Cellar 107 and baked goods from The Dulwich Bakery.
Starting at The Rosendale Pub, there will be a World Cup trail with the winner receiving a £20 voucher to spend at Wigwam Toy Shop.
The toy shop will also be holding its own balloon modelling and face painting event for children.
At 11 am, Dulwich Books will be hosting a special story time, plus offering lots of in-store promotions including a giant lucky dip with the purchase of any kid’s book and a free tote bag with every purchase over £25.
Head down Rosendale Road for the opportunity purchase a great selection of arts, crafts, handmade jewellery, baby clothes and cakes from the market stalls – you may find yourself a hidden treasure or two…
To finish off an afternoon of flower pot decorating at the Dulwich Trader, The Rosendale Pub will be serving Pimms and Pink Gin at their ‘Best of British’ pop-up outdoor bar.
