A murder investigation has been launched after the body of a 44-year-old man was found in Lambeth on Monday.
Although not formally identified, police say they have informed his next of kin.
The man was found at 6.55am on July 12, in New Park Road near Brixton Hill.
A post-mortem held at Greenwich Mortuary gave the provisional cause of death as multiple injuries.
Detectives from the Specialist Crime Command, who are leading the investigation, arrested a 48-year-old man on suspicion of murder on Wednesday, July 14.
He remains in custody at a south London police station.
