A man was arrested on suspicion of arson following a fire at a block of flats.
Four fire engines and 21 firefighters rushed to battle the blaze after it broke out in a flat at Mawdley House, in Webber Row, SE1, at about 9.37pm on Tuesday, June 26.
Most of the third-floor flat, which sits above a shop, was damaged by the fire.
There were no reports of any injuries.
A 50-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of arson at 8.50am on June 27.
He was released on bail to return to a south London police station in late July.
London Fire Brigade’s 999 control officers received sixteen calls to the blaze.
The brigade was called at 9.37pm and the fire was under control by 10.51pm.
Fire crews from Lambeth, Dowgate and Dockhead fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
