As we have reported, Fooditude, a catering firm based in Ilderton Road, has turned its professional kitchen into a community kitchen to help provide meals for vulnerable residents during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The St George’s Branch of Southwark Labour Party has been working closely with the company to expand their reach and reach more people who can benefit.
Social enterprise Bermondsey Employment Skills and Training, and Bede House have also got involved and more than £4,000 has been raised so far.
Last Friday 300 meals were delivered, and there will be more than 800 distributed this week.
If you can help with volunteering or funding, contact St George’s branch chair Mark Griffiths via mark.griff@me.com.
If you know of charities or organisations that could benefit from the meals, email sam@bermondseyest.org.uk.
