A south London further education college is holding a “green week” – raising awareness about environmental issues.
The green week runs until tomorrow, Friday 30 April and anyone can sign up for the online lunchtime, afternoon and evening events to learn more about protecting the environment.
Events include free lectures on sustainable design and the “circular economy” – essentially reusing resources as much as possible – and creative responses to climate change.
Other sessions, which cost £15, include making “fabric flowers”, reusing scraps of old material, and “botanical dyeing for lingerie and couture”.
The college, which has a branch on Westminster Bridge Road near Lambeth North tube station, as well as in Chelsea and North Kensington, held a similar week last March.
“This will be our second Green Week because we believe, as a college, we have a key role to play in educating Londoners about climate change and environmental protection,” said Matthew Cunningham, a spokesperson for Morley.
