The mothers of two teenage girls who were last seen three days ago are pleading for them to come home safely.
Friends Jayden Hassan and J’Nea Beecher, both fourteen, were last seen leaving J’Nea’s family home in Evelina Road, Nunhead, at about 3pm on Monday, August 6.
The teenagers told their parents they were going to Teen Fest at Stanley Halls in South Norwood and were due back at J’Nea’s home for a 9pm curfew.
Jayden’s mum said her daughter’s Oyster card was last used to tap in at Oval Underground station at 4.02pm on Monday, but she did not tap back out.
J’Nea called her mum, Samantha Brown, at about 6pm on Monday to say they would be getting an Uber home for her curfew but the teenagers haven’t been seen or heard from since.
Speaking to the News, Jayden’s mum Terrie Mulholland, 36, said: “She was happy and excited when she left.
“Someone said they saw her at Teen Fest, but then several other people said they heard the girls were going to Essex to meet with some boys they were speaking to.
“Jayden’s a teenager – she’s not perfect, but she’s not a runaway.
“This has never happened, it’s just totally out of character.
“If they see this I just need them to come home. They won’t be in any trouble – even if they just get in contact to let us know they are safe.”
J’Nea’s mum Samantha Brown, 46, added: “We just want her to come home safely; she’s not in any trouble.
“We love her very much and we just want her back home.”
Jayden is originally from Camberwell but moved to Thornton Heath, Croydon, with her family.
Jayden is described by her mum as white, with long brown curly hair, green-blue eyes, and about 5ft4ins.
She had a small nose piercing and was wearing a white crop top, blue denim shorts, black pumps with white soles and an orange ankle bracelet when she was last seen.
J’Nea is described as black, with dark brown hair to the neck, dark brown eyes, about 5ft11ins tall.
She was wearing a white camisole top, pink ripped shorts, and a black and gold headscarf with her hair tied back in a ponytail when she was last seen.
Anyone with information of Jayden’s and J’Nea’s whereabouts is asked to contact police by calling 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
