Plans for a new secondary school at the site of the old Southwark Fire Station have been given the green light by the government.

A co-ed school, provisionally named Haberdashers’ Aske’s Borough Academy, will open its doors in September 2017 or 2018. The school will admit 180 pupils every year until eventually boasting 1150 pupils.
