Elmington Estate residents celebrated on Saturday with the reopening of their newly refurbished tenants’ and residents association (T&RA) hall.
Val Fenn, who chairs the T&RA in Camberwell said: “It has been transformed. They have really done something brilliant with it. It’s like a completely different building inside.”
Guests enjoyed free fish and chips and treats laid on by Saltash Enterprises in Peckham, the firm behind the hall’s revamp.
“Saltash was outstanding, from beginning to the end and we want to thank them for their support most of all,” Val said.
The party was joined by Camberwell Green ward councillor, Dora Dixon-Fyle, and Southwark Council’s cabinet member for housing, cllr Stephanie Cryan. T&RA members from the Bonamy, Ledbury, and Caroline Gardens estates also attended.
