Outdoor gyms will be up from this week, as Southwark Council warns people to continue social distancing.
From July 4, the majority of playgrounds and sports courts were opened across Southwark, with the government giving outdoor gyms the go-ahead from Monday.
The council is urging users to wash their hands, avoid anywhere that looks too busy, and maintain social distancing.
Anyone with symptoms of COVID-19 can now book a test – a facility the council is keen people use.
Cllr Rebecca Lury, the cabinet member for culture, leisure, equalities and communities, said: “We are beginning to open children’s playgrounds in line with government advice.
“We know many families will be excited to see their local playground reopen, but it’s still really important that we all keep our distance from others.
“If the park is busy please come back at another time, and if you have symptoms please stay at home and book a test.
“It is important that anyone using our playgrounds makes sure that they and their children wash their hands and stick to government guidance.
“We’re really grateful to our residents for helping keep Southwark safe and reducing the spread of COVID-19.”
