A woman has died in a collision with a truck outside Surrey Quays station.
Police were called to the collision at around 11.30am outside of the station on Hawkstone Road.
A woman, who officers have now established was aged sixty, was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers have now informed her next of kin.
There have been no arrests at this time, say police, and some road closures are in place around the area.
“Hawkstone Road is currently closed and will remain closed into the afternoon,” said Ch Supt, Colin Wingrove.
“An exit point from Surrey Quays Overground Station which opens in to the crime scene is also closed. However, the station is open and operating as normal.
“The truck driver is assisting officers with their enquiries. However, no arrests have been made at this stage.”
One exit at the station has been closed, but it is still open, said a Met spokesperson, with other points of entry and exit.
